Chin Surgeries

CHIN SURGERIES
Harmony between the facial features is the key to an attractive face. Hence, the forehead, nose, lips and chin should be proportional to each other.

It is possible to move a short or narrow chin forward with a surgical procedure. Alternatively, the chin may be enhanced with a variety of implants suitable for the individual. The implants are placed in the front portion of the bone through incisions made under the chin and inside the mouth. These implants cannot be noticed visually or felt by touch. In some cases, the patient's own bone tissue or fat tissue is used.

These procedures are frequently recommended to patients having rhinoplasty to improve their facial proportions because the size of the chin may magnify or minimize the perceived size of the nose.

Conversely, some patients have overly projecting chins. In this case, reduction surgery is performed, which requires a longer healing period.

These surgeries are performed under local anaesthesia or sedation, and they last for between half an hour and one hour.

The patients may experience postoperative pain or bruise. After the operation, a non-compressive bandage is used and then removed on the 3rd day. The sutures are removed within 3 to 5 days. A week later, the patient can go back to normal daily activities.
