What to know on post-op facelift?

In facelift surgeries, drains are used to easily expel body fluids that accumulated under the skin after surgery. The removal time of drains may vary from patient to patient depending on the color and quantity of the incoming liquid. In general, it will be removed after about 48 – 72 hours. Once the drains are removed, you can be discharged from the hospital.

Postoperative bruises begin to heal approximately after 2 weeks. It may take about a month to fully recover from.

We recommend keeping your head above heart level while you sleep and all day long so that your healing process can be fast-paced and smooth. It is majorly important for you to lie down and close to a semi-sitting position, especially during sleep.

It is crucial to use a bandage after facelift procedures. This application prevents blood accumulation. That is why it is crucial to use a bandage regularly during the first week. In the next 2 weeks, it will be enough to use the bandage only in the evening time. CK Health Turkey will provide bandages and instructions on how to apply them.

After facelift surgery, you should avoid salty foods for a while. Also, consume plenty of water to quickly get rid of swelling and reduce edema.

Depending on your recovery process, you can start using skincare products in the 3rd or 4th week after surgery. You should wait at least 2 weeks for makeup.

You can also support your skin healing with vitamin supplements.

Since the healing process varies from patient to patient, contact one of our healthcare professionals for more information.
