You will wear a compression garment for 6 weeks after your thigh lift surgery. This compression garment will be provided by CK Health Turkey. In the first few days, you should keep your legs above the heart level when lying down and sitting. However, during your healing process, you should opt for cotton underwear; this helps you complete your process comfortably.
It is normal to experience mild pain which can be controlled with painkillers. You will not feel severe pain after surgery.
You may be mobilized on the same day after surgery. After your hospital discharge is approved by your surgeon, an overnight stay at the hospital may be enough.
You can take a shower 7 days after the operation.
Slight bruising and swelling may appear on the inner side of the operated area. They’re completely normal. After a few weeks, these are expected to disappear.
You may return to work approximately a week after the operation. Since the healing process varies from patient to patient, contact one of our healthcare professionals for more information.
Further information on post-op thigh lift surgery
- Sports: Usually, strenuous exercises are not allowed for at least 4 – 6 weeks after surgery. Even then, your body may still not have fully recovered. Consult with your surgeon before exercising.
- Sexual intercourse: In order to complete your healing process comfortably, you should avoid sexual activities until at least 4 weeks post-op.
- Alcohol and smoking: Avoid alcohol for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery. Smoking and alcohol consumption can narrow vessels, disrupt tissue nutrition, and cause cell death, and inflammation.
- Driving: Avoid driving for at least 10 days after your thigh lift surgery. Using a vehicle before you complete your healing process can cause your incisions to open. If that happens, it may require immediate medical intervention. That is why consult with our healthcare professionals about driving and sitting for long hours.
Your nutrition intake habits are critical especially after your thigh lift surgery as much as any other plastic surgery. Weight gain or weight loss after surgery adversely affects the results of your medically successful plastic surgery operation.
After the surgery, it is very important to have a balanced diet in terms of vitamins, minerals, and protein. A balanced diet will help you to recover from fatigue and any other similar complaints that may occur after surgery in a short time.
