A compression garment is provided for you to use during your healing process after breast lift surgery. You should wear this compression garment for at least 4 weeks. This will help reduce your level of pain and provide you comfort.
Drains are removed after 24 – 48 hours after the surgery.
You may take a shower 2 days after the drains are removed.
Lifting heavy objects, especially exercises that will cause tension in the arms and chest muscles, are not recommended. If pressure is applied to the breasts, there may be a danger of bleeding inside the chest and causing stitches to open.
Further information on Breast Lift Surgery
- Sports: You should not exercise heavily for at least 2 months after the surgery. After a month, you can start exercising in the form of a light walk. Since the healing process varies from patient to patient, contact one of our healthcare professionals for more information.
- Sexual Intercourse: You should wait at least 2 weeks for any kind of sexual activity.
- Alcohol and Smoking: Avoid drinking alcohol 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery. Do not smoke for at least a month after surgery. Smoking disrupts tissue nutrition, and causes cell destruction, cell death, wound opening, stitch opening, and inflammation.
- Driving: You can start driving 2 weeks after surgery. Thus, it removes unnecessary pressure that may occur through your seatbelt and prevents straining your chest muscles while driving.
Food and nutrition intake after breast lift surgery is very important as in all other plastic surgeries. This is because postoperative weight loss can also affect medically successful surgery negatively.
After the surgery, it is very important to have a balanced diet in terms of vitamins, minerals, and protein. A balanced diet will help you to recover from fatigue and any other similar complaints that may occur after surgery in a short time.
After the surgery, breasts may sag due to weight loss, gravity, and aging.
