You should start wearing a compression garment after a tummy tuck surgery. The pressure applied by the compression garment prevents excessive edema accumulation. You should wear it throughout the day for about a week without removing it. After a week, you can continue wearing it for another 3 weeks during the day. You can consult our healthcare professionals before you stop using your compression garment completely.
Be active! The more active you are after your surgery, the faster you may complete your healing process. Your walking position should be tilted slightly forward for the first 5 – 7 days after surgery. This position will reduce the tension in your abdomen and give you comfort during your recovery process.
Keeping your head slightly upright when laying on your back and in ‘’Fetal Position’’ will prevent tension in the seam line. In general, our patients completely mobilize and are able to get back to their daily lives after a week. This recovery time depends on the number of plastic surgery operations you will undergo and your medical history.
You can take a shower on the 5th day after your tummy tuck operation. At the same time, you are welcome to start light exercises for 4 – 6 weeks after surgery. You may return to your normal routine from the 7th week under supervision.
Since the healing process varies from patient to patient, contact one of our healthcare professionals for more information.
